Overview:
Hannah Smith joined the faculty at Georgia Tech in the summer of 2024. She earned her Ph.D. in Microbiology & Molecular Genetics from Emory University, where she studied antibiotic resistance in Gram-negative bacteria. She completed her postdoctoral research as an NIH IRACDA Fellow at Emory University, studying the structural basis of ribosome stalling in several clinically significant bacterial pathogens.
